BJP office bearers’ meet concludes

JAMMU, Dec 23: The two days Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national office bearers meeting at party Headquarters, Deendayal Marg, New Delhi culminated this evening with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi giving a clarion call to his party men to fully concentrate on coming Lok Sabha elections in their respective States by intensifying public outreach programmes of his Government.
According to sources, the Prime Minister who delivered his key note address yesterday during the inaugural session of the meeting said party will go with full enthusiasm in coming Lok Sabha elections. He asked party men that BJP being an ideology based party different than others so the morality and principle based politics is our strength.
Party sources said PM Modi asked the party leaders to reach out to first time voters and advised them of focus on informing the people about the Government’s positive works instead of joining issues with opposition parties with in their negative campaign.
Sources said that the PM asked party leaders also take the good works done by his Government to common masses all over the country and highlight the benefits of the welfare schemes launched by his Government for the common masses.
Sources said the BJP has set its eyes on winning an “unprecedented majority” in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking key organisational leaders to work towards boosting the party’s vote share by 10 per cent,.
The Prime Minister emphasised the need to reach out to women, youth, farmers and the poor – whom he has often described as the four biggest “castes”.
He asked party leaders to connect a maximum number of these people with the ongoing ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’, which aims at saturation of his government’s flagship welfare schemes.
Sources said the party national president JP Nadda in his presidential address said that the result of recent elections is an indication that people of the country are with BJP and they want the party to rule the nation again. He asked the leaders to launch a protracted campaign to ensure that the party gets 400 + seats in upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections and creates a record this time.
Nadda said political situation in the country is totally favourable to BJP as during last 10 years Narendra Modi Government has launched one after another public welfare scheme benefitting every section of society irrespective of their caste, creed, colour and region. The BJP president said that the areas which were neglected during the last 60 years got justice under Modi rule as they were provided basic facilities of life like road connectivity, drinking water electricity, medical facility etc.
The two-day meeting, which commenced on Friday, was called to take stock of its preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024 and chalk out strategy for other upcoming programmes of the party.
On Friday, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi inaugurated the meeting in the presence of the party’s national president, JP Nadda. Sources said that Prime Minister who entered the meeting hall at 4.30 pm remained there upto 10 pm yesterday.
In a social media post, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said, ”We had a fruitful interaction on ways to deepen our connect with the people and elaborate on our Party’s development agenda”.
The meeting was attended by state chiefs, general secretaries, in-charges, and other office-bearers besides the presidents and organisational general secretaries from all states and UTs.
The sources said the meeting threadbare discussed the party’s preparations for the upcoming polls, and took stock of the results of the Assembly polls last month.
Sources said the party discussed strategy for Lok Sabha polls in light of efforts by I.N.D.I .A bloc parties to contest the polls together.
The meeting also reviewed the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, sources said, adding that a discussion was also held on the training of elected representatives and mocha activities.
Addressing the BJP’s national office-bearers and state presidents on the concluding day of the two-day brainstorming meet on Saturday, Home Minister, Amit Shah said that the BJP’s performance should leave the opposition “stunned”, the sources said.
“We have to reach every home with our ideology and historic works of BJP governments and make Modi Ji Prime Minister again in 2024 with an unprecedented majority,” Shah later posted on X about his address at the meet.
With the opposition INDIA bloc planning to put up a one-on-one fight against the BJP, Modi called for raising the BJP’s vote share by 10 per cent from its show in the 2019 polls when the ruling party had fetched over 37 per cent of votes while the National Democratic Alliance led by it had bagged around 45 per cent votes.
Shah said that the BJP’s massive win in the recent Assembly polls under Modi’s charismatic leadership shows that the trust of every group and people of every region is only in the prime minister.
The consecration ceremony at the Ram temple was one of the highlights of the two-day deliberations as the party is confident it will be a major issue in its favour in the polls.
Opposition parties created many obstacles in resolving the issue, which was mired in legal disputes for decades, and people should be told about it, senior party leaders noted during the meeting.
Shah, like Modi a day before, underlined the primacy of organisation in elections and said it should score such an “overwhelming” win that the opposition thinks many times before challenging it, sources said.
During the meet BJP accused the opposition of resorting to lies and spreading fake narratives but expressed confidence that people would reward Modi with a third straight term at the Centre.
Top party leaders, in their speeches, asked BJP functionaries to strengthen its booth committees everywhere to ensure that its local cadres reach more and more people.
The BJP’s big win in the recent Assembly polls came up for praise in the meeting, with the party unit presidents of the three Hindi heartland states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh speaking on the victories.
Modi’s leadership, the appeal of his Government’s welfare schemes and the strength of its organisational machinery were cited as big reasons for the win.
Different ‘morchas’ of the party spoke about their upcoming programmes in the run-up to the general elections.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders from J&K held a meeting with party national president JP Nadda on political and security scenario in the UT. The leaders from J&K including Party UT president Ravinder Raina, general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul and national secretary, Dr Narendra Singh held a separate meeting with Nadda on J&K affairs, Raina told Excelsior.
