NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called upon the youth of the country to be part of big transformation process to make India a role model for the entire world. Addressing a NCC rally here as part of the Republic Day celebrations, the Prime Minister asked the NCC cadets to take the message of cleanliness campaign to every nook and corner of the country so that Swachh Bharat movement was turned into a part of ‘national habit’.
Referring to the Yoga Day, which has been adopted by the UN recently with an overwhelming support, Mr Modi called upon NCC cadets to mark the day on June 21 in such a large number that it breaks all the world records.
“More than 65 per cent population of our country is of youth whose age is less than 35 years. The country which possesses such enormous youthful dreams and such a youthful energy, should also achieve progress on an equal proportion,” he said. Mr Modi added that his government’s Swachh Bharat campaign was not merely an event or a programme but an effort to change the lifestyle of 125 crore people of India. “In NCC, we should also adopt this practice of cleanliness as part of our habit and do not litter even by mistake,” he said, adding that if cleanliness becomes part of national lifestyle, the whole world would change its outlook about India.
