JAMMU, Apr 19: Reacting to the Prime Minister’s visit to the State today, JKPCC chief GA Mir has said that Prime Minister has disappointed people as they were expecting that ration and other issues concerning people would be resolved but the visit proved to be a formality and nothing beyond that.
In a press statement the PCC chief said it was also expected that Prime Minister besides addressing other issues would also respond to the rehabilitation issue of flood hit traders, business community, who have suffered heavily due to September 2014 deluge, but the visit of Prime Minister proved that he seems less concerned about the rehabilitation of flood affected business community.
Describing the recent meetings of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with Prime Minister and other Union Ministers, in the Union capital as a complete failure, Mr Mir said that Chief Minister has failed to convince the Prime Minister in respect of increase in scale of ration and others issues confronting people in the State. The Chief Minister’s tall claims and promises have fallen flat.
PCC chief further said that it was also expected from the PM that he would pass directions to armed forces to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with law and order situation, but that too, has not happened which is an embarrassment for the State Government.
