NEW DELHI, Sept 1: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has exhorted the Civil Servants to put in their best.
He was addressing the 118th Induction Training Programme of Provincial Civil Services Officers from different States whyo were inducted into the IAS this year.
Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, P.K. Sinha Cabinet Secretary, B.P. Sharma Secretary DoPT and Rajiv Kapoor Director LBSNAA Rajiv Kapoor were present on the occasion..
The programme was attended by 66 officers from different States who had concluded the training programme at the Mussoorie Academy after being conferred IAS. Out of these, maximum number are 13 from Maharashtra and 12 from Gujarat. There are 6 officers from Assam, 3 from Meghalaya, 4 from Manipur – Tripura and 7 from AGMUT. In addition, 4 officers from Madhya Pradesh, 2 from Uttar Pradesh, 4 from West Bengal and 1 from Punjab have also been inducted into IAS this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that most of the officers were above the age of 45 years and had therefore, already achieved quite a sufficient experience in administration. With the training at Mussoorie Academy after induction into IAS, they are now more enriched to perform even better during the remaining tenure of their service.
Pertinent to mention that induction level and post-entry professional training to the officers of IAS is conducted at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) at Mussoorie. The training programme is comprehensive and is also aimed to sensitize the officers about the new developments in the field of governance and public administration.
