JAMMU, Mar 20: Demanding justice for 45 unemployed youth who were selected under PM package in 2017 against various posts Kashmiri migrant youth continued their protest for 153th day near Press Club here, today.
The protesters with placards and banners in their hands raised slogans in support of their demand and accused the Government of playing with their future. They alleged that despite being selected under a due process of law their appointment orders were not issued under flimsy grounds by the authorities at the helm of affairs.
The protestors said that they have been on dharna for last five months now but the Government is totally unmoved as no body in the administration took cognizance of their demands. They said that despite meeting the higher authorities including advisors to Governor and informed them about the issue but except the false assurances they failed to give justice to hapless candidates who have been now running from pillar to post for the same.
Reiterating their appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha the aggrieved candidates sought his immediate intervention in the matter and demanded issuance of appointment orders in their favour. The protesting youth said that after the announcement of PM’s special package they resigned from the private sector jobs in various parts of country and returned to J&K to serve in Kashmir Valley and contribute in restoration of the pluralistic character Kashmir which received a setback after the mass exodus of minority Pandits in 1989 and 90 due to hands of the forces inimical to peace and co-existence.
They said after losing their jobs in private sector they have now become a burden on their old aged parents who too are unable to pull on under the prevailing circumstances.
The protestors were addressed by Deepak Raina, Bharti Koul, Kamlesh Pandita, Rozy Bhat, Sunaina and Vikas Pandit.
