PM package for PoK DPs just mockery: SOS Intl

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 12: Terming Prime Minister’s package as Kashmir centric only and a betray for PoK displaced persons, SOS International- an organization for PoK DPs, has out-rightly rejected the package describing it as a just mockery.
In a press statement here chairman of the DPs’ body Rajiv Chuni said that the DPs had very high hopes from PM Modi but they are feeling cheated. He said the PM Modi had to only announce the package as the required formalities were already executed but PoK DPs were again deceived. The struggle waged by the DPs  forced the previous NC-Congress coalition to approve the package and the previous State Cabinet approved Rs 25 lakhs cash to each displaced family, reservation for the wards and employment package for the youths of PoK DPs and sent it to Central Government to implement it but instead of immediately implementing the package; Modi Government after assuming the charge of office returned back the package to State Government with a rider of including West-Pakistani refugees in the package.
Chuni said in the CMP of both BJP-PDP settlement of PoK DPs has been included. Even the BJP MP Jugal Kishore had assured that Govt was seriously considering to approve the package recommended. Even it was assured that Modi Govt was going to raise package to Rs 40 lakh.  Even  both the BJP MPs including MoS in PMO had given high assurances but nothing of the sort happened.
“The previous State Cabinet of J&K had recommended Rs 9096  crore package which covered the whole PoK DPs community with Rs 25 lakhs per PoK DP family. Modi on November 7 announced merely Rs 5263 crores and it was not exclusively for PoK DPs; KPs, border migrants, West-Pakistani refugees, 4 IRP battalions, DPs of 1965, 1971 and DPs of 1947 will share the package of Rs 5263 cr. This package is just a cruel joke with the PoJK DPs.
Chuni said PM announced package of Rs 80,068 crores but more than Rs 75,000 crores were given to Kashmir Valley. Jammu was given Rs 5263 crores and Valley migrants have been involved in it, too. Out of Rs 80,068 crores; Rs 77,000 crores have been given to Kashmir. It is clearly seen that Modi has announced package by keeping Kashmir centric approach in mind. He claimed that SOS International  will intensify the struggle till the last goal is achieved by DPs.
