PM pays homage to Dr Rajendra Prasad

NEW DELHI, Dec 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to country’s first President Dr Rajendra Prasad.
In a tweet, Mr Modi described the Late President as a multi-talented person who lived a simple life.
“Rajendra Babu will continue to inspire people all along,” he tweeted in Hindi.
Meanwhile, in a series of tweets, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri wrote: “My tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first & longest serving President on his 132nd birth anniversary.
A compatriot of the Mahatma, he was at the forefront of Salt Satyagrah & Non Cooperation Movements during India’s freedom struggle.”
Mr Puri also paid “homage” to Shaheed Khudiram Bose on his birth anniversary.
“One of the youngest revolutionaries of India’s freedom movement, he became a volunteer in the movement at a tender age of 16 & was just 18 years old at the time of his hanging in 1908”.
Mr Puri also paid homage to hockey wizard Dhyan Chand. “Remembering the Wizard of Hockey and one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, Major Dhyan Chand on his death anniversary”. (UNI)
