NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to the country’s war martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti, India Gate on occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the 1965 India-Pakistan War.
The Prime Minister laid a wreath at Amar Jawan Jyoti to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers and mark their victory and sacrifice in the war.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and three service chiefs were also present on the occasion. The Prime Minister wrote in the Visitor’s Book. He met war veterans and their families.
This mark the end of month long celebrations which started from August 28, the day Pakistan had launched the misadventure at the border.
After registering all round victory on all fronts, India had declared ceasefire on this day 50 years ago. (UNI)
