PM urged to provide additional grant for regularization of daily wagers

JAMMU, Nov 5: While welcoming the much awaited one day visit of Prime Minister to J&K on November 7, president of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri, today urged upon the PM to provide Rs 2000 crore as an additional grant in the proposed financial package to meet the expenditure on accounts of absorption and regularization of nearly 61,000 daily rated workers of the State.
Shastri while advancing the cause of daily rated workers reminded Narendra Modi and BJP brass to fulfill their commitment and assurances which they had promised in BJP’s manifesto adding his reiterated observation that PM Narendra Modi is the only leader capable of resolving this long awaited issue.
Shastri also appealed Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of State (PMO) and State Finance Minister to expedite the noble cause of absorption of these daily rated workers besides provision of additional funds.
Stressing on the need to include Jammu and Srinagar cities in the list of proposed 100 smart cities, Shastri pointed out that including Jammu and Srinagar cities in the list of 100 smart cities of the country would ensure more flow of funds to upgrade modernized civic amenities in both capital cities of State.
He also demanded early release of 6% DA due from July last in favor of State Government employees as well as pensioners, beside removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre in SRO 93.
Other demands highlighted by Shastri included release of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government, strict enforcement of CP Fund deduction schemes in all departments and enhancing wages of daily wagers to Rs 10,000 per month.
