JAMMU, Sept 17 : Maintaining that PM Vishwakarma Scheme represents perfect blend of India’s civilisational ethos and traditional craftsmanship, Union Minister in PMO, with independent charge of Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that the scheme offers the option of earning livelihood while at the same time sustaining India’s age old Guru-Shishya Parampara,.
Dr Jitendra Singh was speaking here today during the launch of ‘Vishwakarma Scheme’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Union Minister said PM Modi has introduced a culture of combining India’s traditional knowledge with modern technology and Chandrayaan is the most striking example of this.
Modi has generated employment avenues through modern technology while at the same time retained the unique techniques of ancient Indian culture,” the Minister said.
Dr Jitendra Singh said Narendra Modi has created a history of sorts as it is the first Government since the independence which has sought to create livelihood for the people by reviving extinct trades of the past.
“Modi has walked the talk as he said his Government would be dedicated to uplift the neglected sections of the society”, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while highlighting the concern shown by PM for the upliftment of poor and neglected sections of the society, said PM Svanidhi Yojna is benefiting 40 lakh street vendors in the country who are not much educated. He said Rs 23 lakh crores have been earmarked for the scheme which will have six crore beneficiaries in the country.
While referring to ‘PM Vishwakarma Scheme’, Dr Jitendra Singh said with no liability on parents of the artisans and craftsmen, the Government will not only provide free training to them but also give stipend during the training period.
The Minister while reiterating that it is not possible for any country to provide Government jobs to all its people, said the Modi Government has taken many revolutionary steps to provide employment avenues to its youth by launching various schemes among them StartUps, skill development, Mudra Yojana and Vishwakarma are worth to name.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that PM Modi has revolutionised the work culture in the country by combining the best features of Indian tradition with morality keeping in view the diversity of the country.
The Union Minister said, by naming Moon Mission as ‘Chandrayan’, its lander as ‘Vikram’ and its landing site on Moon’s South Pole as ‘Shiv Shakti’ is the best example of preservation of the civilizational ethos of India. And, inputs sent from lunar South Pole connects it with the state of the art technologies and proves that India is ahead of the so-called developed nations who now want to led by us, Dr Jitendra Singh added.
He said this is a historic day in the development journey of India when the exclusive asset of India, the traditional artisans and craftsmen are being brought into the mainstream with the launch of ‘PM Vishwakarma’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dr Jitendra Singh said the traditional artisans and craftsmen are as integral as anything in the society who have kept alive the centuries old traditions and crafts of India but were never taken care of since independence. It was only possible under PM Narendra Modi that this integral part of the society is supported and skilled now with the launch of ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme today.
Dr Jitendra Singh said the 10 crore Ujjwala connections, 12 crore toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission, 13 crore connections under Jal Jeevan Mission, 18 crore health cards under Ayushman Bharat, Mudra Loans, PM Kisan Nidhi etc. is a proof that this Government is dedicated to those left out from mainstream by the earlier governments.
