* With today’s two massive rallies at Billawar and MA Stadium in Jammu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his high profile election campaign for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. He addressed a total nine rallies during the campaign at Jammu, Srinagar, Billawar, Kathua, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Poonch, Samba and Rajouri drawing record and enthusiastic crowds everywhere.
* Today, people had started pouring in at MA Stadium at 9 am to occupy front row even as Modi came to the rally venue at 3.10 pm and started the address at 3.25 pm. He concluded the speech at 4.05 pm. Right from 9 am to 3 pm, serpentine queues were witnessed outside MA Stadium with people including men, women and children eagerly awaiting to gain entry inside the Stadium.
* Modi, who was wearing grey color coat-pent and brown muffler at Billawar, was without muffler in Jammu. He specially mentioned the name of Param Vir Chakra Bana Singh, who was at the stage with him saying Jammu will always be proud of him. He also had special mention of MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh’s encouraging role in relief and rehabilitation operations during September floods in the State.
* At both MA Stadium and Billawar, it took Modi nearly two to three minutes to wave to the thousands of people by visiting every side of the stage as people continued to chant `Modi-Modi’ to have a glimpse of him. At both the places, a large number of women had turned up. At Billawar, the rush of women prompted Modi to say that this was women awareness, which was giving power to him. He said the women have taken a decision on the elections and he was seeing rare picture in J&K, which were not seen anywhere and that was huge rush of women.
* Huge rush of people on roofs, tree and whatever space was available at Sangerh, Mandli in Billawar got a comment from Modi that the people have searched balconies for them. However, he took a guarantee from them that they will not fall.
* BJP bigwig and Billawar candidate Dr Nirmal Singh welcome Modi to the land of Mata Vala Sundri Ji and Varun Devi Ji at Sangerh, Mandli and apprised the Prime Minister that 70 per cent people in Billawar, Basohli and Bani have no access to drinking water, roads etc due to misgovernance of previous Governments and legislators.
* As MA Stadium was jam packed, a large number of people couldn’t get entry inside leading to huge rush on the roads at Jewel Chowk, Canal Road, Vikram Chowk and surroundings forcing the people to hear the speech of Modi on television screens in the shops.
* A number of Government and private sector employees, students, shopkeepers and their staff had virtually gone on holiday to see and hear Modi at the MA Stadium. Many of them had entered the Stadium between 10 am to 12 noon to gain entry inside and waited for hours with patience to hear the Prime Minister.
* Modi was presented pashmina shawl and bouquets at Billawar rally by Dr Nirmal Singh. He assured the youth of Billawar that their dreams of having laptops and become part of educated youths of India will be fulfilled by him.
* As Modi said Congress, NC and PDP have looted Jammu and Kashmir, the crowd at Billawar responded with `Yes’. He assured special development of hilly areas of Bani, Basohli and Billawar apart from job opportunities. He said there should be no caste based politics. Caste can be a criteria for marriage but not for voting, he added amidst applause from the crowd.
* Responding to Dr Nirmal Singh’s asserting of neglect of hilly areas, Modi said like Badri Nath Ji and Kedar Nath Ji, the people want to come on religious pilgrimage in Jammu and Kashmir and “we will create opportunities for the people”.
* `Kyon Baithe Yuva Bekaar, Jammu Maang Raha Hissab’ and `Khatam Karein Jammu Say Vedhbaav, Chalo Chalein Modi Kay Saath’ were the two slogans written in the Hindi at the dais from where Modi addressed the huge crowd at MA stadium.
* As Modi reached the dais, the crowd went out of control at both MA Stadium and Billawar to have a glimpse of him. However, the order was restored at the Stadium after five minutes when Modi started speaking.
* At the end of rally, Modi raised hands of all BJP candidates of Jammu district, who were present at the dais and called upon the people to make them victorious.
* Several people had turned up at MA Stadium with their family members for glimpse of Modi. Some of them had even brought children and elderly people with them. High enthusiasm was, however, seen among women and youth, who cheered every single word of the Prime Minister. Many youth could be seen dancing when Modi touched the issues of discrimination with Jammu and generation of job opportunities for them.
* Many youth said they had high hopes on Modi especially after complete control on inflation and providing over six months of good governance.
