PMSMA: About 300 persons checked up in Akhnoor hospitals

JAMMU, June 9: As part of Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), a new initiative by Government of India, to provide at least one ANC checkup to pregnant women by Gynaecologist during 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy, on 9th of every month, about 300 pregnant ladies were today checked up by the doctors in various hospitals of Block Akhnoor.
The purpose of the ANC checkup by doctors is to ensure that no high risk pregnancy goes undetected. As part of the Abhiyan, more than 300 pregnant ladies were checked up by the Gynaecologist in CHC Akhnoor, CHC Jourian, PHC Maira Mandrian and PHC Sungal of Block Akhnoor.
Besides, Antenatal services including all investigations, Ultrasound, Lab Tests and other facilities were provided free of cost to all pregnant ladies under the supervision of Dr Vinod Kumar, Block Medical officer, Akhnoor.
Sunaina Sharma, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Akhnoor was the chief guest at CHC Akhnoor. She interacted with the pregnant ladies coming for ANC at CHC Akhnoor.
Moreover, she did round of the hospital where she visited the different sections of CHC Akhnoor like New OPD Complex, Emergency, Labour Room, Wards, etc and expressed satisfaction over the working culture and sanitary condition of the hospital.
