PNB celebrates 122nd foundation day

JAMMU, Apr 12: 122nd foundation day of Punjab National Bank (PNB) was celebrated by organizing different functions at its branches all over the State.
To mark this day at its Circle Office, Bahu Plaza, a blood donation camp was organized by the Bank in association with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Jammu region here today. The camp was inaugurated by Bikram Singh Raina, Circle Head, PNB Jammu Circle, who was accompanied by RC Puri, Secretary, IRCS, Jammu region.
Speaking on the occasion, Raina said that it is a momentous and emotional day for the entire PNB family as they celebrate the Bank’s 122nd foundation day. PNB was born out of patriotic fervour  in 1895 at Lahore on the Baisakhi day by dedicated persons like Lala Lajpat Rai who had vision of a bank owned by Indians, managed by Indians and served by the Indians.
Making a mention of the giant strides made by the bank from brick-and-mortar branches to the level of offering digital banking services, Raina informed that PNB grew into a mammoth Indian multinational banking and financial services company since its nationalization due to continued support from large number of customers.
RC Puri, also spoke on the occasion about the importance of blood donation and appreciated the spirit of discipline, devotion, dedication and enthusiasm of the staff members of PNB who voluntary came forward for this noble cause on its foundation day.
Also, to mark its foundation day, the bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, distributed stationery items including note books, pencils, erasers, etc at Bal Niketan, Ved Mandir, Ambphalla, today.
Raina assured the students that the bank would always try to help and give every possible support to the school so that no child feels any disadvantage for getting proper facilities.
Pawan Kohli, Deputy Circle Head, Raj Kumar Gupta, Umang Maini, Subash Chander—Chief Managers at circle office and a large number of staff members were present at the occasion.
