JAMMU, May 17: Punjab National Bank (PNB) today organized a function at Domana area here to disburse Kissan Credit Cards among the farmers.
The function was inaugurated by Mohd Latif Mir, Deputy General Manager (DGM), Circle Head J&K. The function was organized in coordination with the Agriculture Department in which farmers of villages Domana, Jungwari, Shamachak and Dubditta participated.
A total of 102 KCCs were distributed to the farmers involving a credit outlay of Rs 1.12 crore in the function.
Speaking at the function, Mir informed that KCCs is providing adequate and timely support to the farmers for their short-term credit needs. He added that the scheme has proved beneficial to the farmers for expansion of their agricultural activities and helping them in meeting timely short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops, post harvest expenses and profitable marketing of their produce.
He further added that as per State Government SRO, KCC loan upto Rs 1.50 lakh is exempted from Stamp Duty.
Mir further added that as per Government guidelines, every eligible farmer should be given a Kissan Credit Cards by banks. He advised farmers to conduct their KCCs accounts as per the scheme and urged them to avail the maximum benefits of the KCCs scheme so that their economic conditions can improve.
S S Chib, District Coordinator, PNB, A K Koul, Senior Manager Domana Branch, R K Sharma, Manager Shamachak branch, Rakesh Kumar and Manoj Kumar– both Manager Agriculture of the Bank, Sarpanch Shamsher Singh and large number of beneficiaries and staff members of the Bank were present at the function.
