PNB holds KCC Mela at Shamachak

JAMMU, Jan 29: Punjab National Bank (PNB) today held a Kissan Credit Card (KCC) Mela at Branch Office Shamachak, under the guidance of ML Mir, DGM Circle Head, J&K Circle.
The farmers from Akhnoor also participated in the function. During the Mela, KCCs worth Rs 1.32 crores were distributed among the farmers.
During the function, the farmers had a very interactive session with SS Chib, District Coordinator Jammu who apprised them about the benefits of new Kissan Credit Scheme which has the inbuilt annual enhancement facility by 10% for a period of five years.
Chib also discussed at length various schemes relating to the agriculture sector as well as the education loan scheme for their children desiring to pursue higher studies.
He also explained to the farmers the benefit of PNB’s Krishak Sathi Scheme of swapping the dues to be paid to money lenders so that they are not subjected to the exploitation by the money lenders any more.
The farmers were elated to have the benefit of the scheme which freed them from the unending burden of huge interest charged by the moneylenders.
Chib also encouraged the farmers to form farmer’s clubs/Self Help Groups and avail the credit linkage from PNB.
The others who graced the occasion included Nirmal Parkash Sharma, JEO Agriculture Department, Sham Lal Sarangal, Senior Branch Manager, Shamachak, KK Bhagat, Manager Akhnoor, Dr Sumit Lal, Senior Manager, Agriculture.
