JAMMU, Apr 12: Acting on a written complaint, Crime Branch Jammu has arrested a PNB MetLife agent for cheating a client and forging her signature on the prospect declaration form.
The complaint was lodged by Usha Razdan, wife of Shiban Krishan Razdan, resident of Sector B/2 H No 55 Laxmipuran Chinore, Jammu, who had purchased PNB MetLife Policy bearing NO. 21155043 on 30.08.2013 through accused Sandeep Raina of G/4 Below Govt. Quarters Shiv Nagar (TophSherkhania) Near Jai Durga Hardware Store, Jammu, a registered agent code 99024981 of PNB Met-Life situated at Bahu Plaza Jammu.
After being allured and induced by the accused on the pretext that only one time premium of Rs 99,999.00/- was to be paid and in turn she will receive Rs 1.75 lakh after five years including the medical claims and insurance cover for life, the premium amount was transferred by her husband from his saving bank account NO. 4575000100023672 of PNB Durga Nagar Bantalab Jammu in favour of PNB MetLife and the policy document was received.
However, it was later revealed that the policy issued to her was of 40 years term and she was to pay the premium for a period of ten years and also the accused forged her signature on the prospect declaration form.
On this case FIR No. 59/2015 U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 RPC was registered in Crime Branch Jammu and the accused Sandeep Raina was arrested. The investigation of case is in final stage and the accused has been taken on Police remand.
