JAMMU, Aug 26: Punjab National Bank (PNB) Officers Association held a meeting and paid tributes to the veteran trade unionist and social activist KR Nagpal.
The meeting was held under the banner of AIBOA, J&K chapter, which was attended by a large number of officers belonging to PNB.
The meeting was presided over by senior retired bank officer of PNB Avtar Kishan Mota and was also attended by Arun Kumar Gupta, general secretary, JPBEF as chief guest.
The Officers present alongwith the guests garlanded the portrait of Nagpal and also paid floral tributes as a mark of respect.
While welcoming the gathering VK Dutta, general secretary, AIPNBOA J&K spoke about numerous qualities of KR Nagpal. Nagpal had made great contribution for the bank employees’ movement in J&K in particular. During his career Nagpal made it a point to bring all the benefits and facilities of the bank available to the employees in J&K, he added.
Ashwani Pradhan in his address outlined many contributions Nagpal had made to enrich bank employees’ movement. It was he who masterminded the officiating of sub-staff in the PNB.
While addressing the gathering, Arun Kumar Gupta informed about the latest developments concerning the employees wage revision and also cautioned the employees about the impending dangers, which are lurking against the bank employees’ movement.
Among others, who addressed the gathering were AK Mota, IB Zutshi and Vinod Kumar.
At last, Vinod Kumar, president, Local unit of AIPNBOA presented vote of thanks.
