PNBMT expresses concern over mutation of shrines, temples records in Kashmir

JAMMU, Apr 7: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) has taken serious exception to mutation of land records of Hindu shrines and temples in Valley during the previous settlement of land records and termed it a big conspiracy on behalf of Revenue Department in Kashmir to deprive the minorities of their temples and shrines property.
The Trust held a meeting of its executive with revenue experts, social/ political activists and presidents of temples as well as shrine committees who are working in Kashmir or at Jammu and urged the Government that the shrines and temples land which existed prior to mass exodus be restored to them and revenue records be kept straight.
The meeting said that under a conspiracy after the settlement during turmoil the Ahel Hanood land belonging to Hindu shrines and temples has been titled as State land and in cases it has been even shown as private land which is a cause of concern. The meeting said this way it seems that some Government agencies are a party to erase the names of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.
The meeting sought immediate intervention of Lt Governor and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir in the matter. It said the list of over 1400 shrines and temples prepared in detail by Dr R L Bhat in the form of the research absed book is the authentic proof of the land belonging to Hindu shrines in Kashmir.
The meeting was presided over by D. N. Trisal (rtd). Deputy commissioner and was among others attended by legal luminaries P.N.Raina, P. N. Goja, O. N. Bhat, Awtar Krishan Raina,. Basant Kumar, Nath Ji Dhar and Kashmiri Lal Bhat.
H. L. Bhat founder member of the Trust presented welcome address. Dr R. L Bhat, a well known intellectual, thinker and writer deliberated on the issue of encroachment of temple and shrine lands in Kashmir.
Others who participated were M. L. Malla,. D N. Saproo, Moti Lal Bhat general secretary BJP KDD, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, S. L. Koul general secretary of the Trust, B. L. Zar, Sundri Lal Koul, M. K. Jalali, Kuldeep Raina, . C. L. Pandita and Rakesh Mattoo. R. L. Pandita chairman of the Trust presented the vote of thanks.
