JAMMU, Dec 8: Showing serious concern over farcical settlement of land done in Kashmir Valley and unabated encroachment of migrants agriculture and horticulture land and that of their religious places, Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) today urged the Government to take the cognisance of the same and set the title of land right besides removing all encroachments from migrants land in Valley.
The Trust organized meetings Barnai, Anuradhapuram and New Rajinder Nagar areas today in its run up to the forthcoming Chetna Diwas. The speakers highlighted the local problems and the common problems of the KP community stressing on their redressal.
Kashmiri Lal, replying the queries regarding the usurpation of the KP lands in Kashmir said that Trust has innumerable examples of farcical settlements done in Kashmir without reference to the original and real owners of these properties. He said that Trust is taking up these cases on individual basis and in this regard a delegation of PNBMT had met the Financial Commissioner.
Shadi Lal Koul Rais general secretary and Sundri Lal Koul secretary gave an overview of the activities of the Trust and the importance of Chetna Diwas.
Sundri Lal Koul said that after exodus from Kashmir three dates got established as sacrosanct in the annals of KP calender which is 14th September as Balidaan Diwas, 19th January as Nishkasan Diwas and 27th December as Chetna Diwas.
Community activist and BJP leader H.L.Bhat said that it was due to the efforts of late Pt. Amarnath Vaishnawi former ASKPC chief that KP boys and girls got admissions in the colleges of Maharashtra. He also recalled the contributions of former Governor, Goa late Kedar Nath Sawhney, who was a great saviour of the community post exodus from Kashmir.
Those who participated in the meetings included Kuldeep Raina, M.K.Jalali, Kashmiri Lal Bhat, Sanjay Thussu, Jawahar Lal Raina, Bushan Lal Koul, Anil Pandita, Shiban Lal Pandita, Makhan Lal Bhat, Ramesh Ji, Kishan Ji, A.K.Dhar, Ravi Raina, Avtar Ji, M. M. Thaploo, K.K.Koul, S.R. Radroo, R.L.Hangloo, Behari Lal Zar, Naveen Bushan, Ramesh Raina, Hira Lal Bhat, Bansi Lal Zar, C.L.Pandita, R.L.Pandita, Shadi Lal Koul, Roshan Lal Pandita, Ramesh Marhatta, Shadi Lal Koul Rais, Brij Lal Bhat, Sundri Lal Koul, Hira Lal Jad and Naveen Handoo among others.
Some members were of the opinion that the Trust must also raise other core issues.
Chairman of the Trust Roshan Lal Pandita appealed members to participate in the forthcoming Chetna Diwas.
