PNBMT reiterates demand about passage of Temples Bill

JAMMU, Nov 28: Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) in a meeting today reiterated its demand for passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill.
In a meeting held at Durga Nag Community Hall Anuradha Puram, Barnai under the leadership of its chairman, Roshan Lal Pandita the meeting threadbare discussed the various issues of Kashmiri Pandits including the problems faced by package employees and minorities in Valley.
Expressing concern over the plight of package employees who are on agitational path for over last six months following eh targeted killings in the Valley, the meeting appealed the Lt Governor to look into their problem on humanitarian grounds.
The meeting, which was presided over by Satish Kumar a social activist said KPs fully endorse the steps taken by the Government in restoring peace and normalcy in the Valley. He expressed the hope that the issue of the package employees will also be settled by the administration soon and pleaded for release of their pending salaries.
He said KPs being the patriotic people are endorsing every action of Government meant for restoration of peace, welfare of people and development of UT. He demanded that the Government should ensure fool proof security to minorities living in Valley and cautioned the community of those elements who are trying to create a wedge between the community and the Government.
Roshan Lal Pandita, chairman of the Trust announced that the Trust will take up the issue during the observance of Chetna Diwas forcefully. He also demanded settlement of other issues of the community including passage of shrines and Temples Bill which is the long pending demand of the community.
Expressing concern over the shrines and temples in Valley Pandita demanded that their land which has been encroached and the shrines which are in dilapidated condition be renovated by the Government immediately.
The welcome address was given by Shadi Lal Rais, general secretary of the Trust while vote of thanks was proposed by Sundri Lal Koul.
B L Bhat Katal, another senior functionary urged the youth to come forward and take interest in community affairs and get linked to their roots.
The meeting among others was addressed by Kashmir Lal senior functionary of the Trust, B L Zar, its vice chairperson, Kuldeep Raina, Chand Ji Bhat president Kashmir Displaced District, BJP, Bushan Lal Bhat, Moti Lal Bhat, BJP leader, Sanjay Thusoo, Inder Ji, Ravi Ji, Rajesh Kaul and others.
