PNBMT to continue struggle for passage of Shrines Bill

JAMMU, Dec 2: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organised a meeting of the heads of various KP organisations and leading individuals to discuss the future course of the struggle by Kashmiri Pandit community for the passage of much talked about Temples and Shrines Bill.
The meeting, while expressing serious concern over the studied silence maintained by the Government over the issue which failed to constitute a Board for protection of Hindu shrines and temples in Valley most of which are in dilapidated condition while the land of many shrines and temples have even been encroached by vested elements.
The members were informed that PNBMT will continue its fight and not budge an inch from its demand for constitution of Board for protection of age old temples and shrines in Valley.
The meeting was chaired by Roshan Lal Pandita, the chairman of the Trust and among others was attended by Vijay Bakaya Ex MLC and general secretary Apni Party, Ajay Bharti former MLC and BJP leader, Shiban Khybri, vice chairman of the Trust, Virender Raina, president Panun Kashmir, Kiran Wattal Chairman VKS, Desh Rattan President AMCCC, B.L.Saraf, Bimal Wantoo, A.K.Raina, B.L.Bhat, Kuldeep Raina, Pintoo Ji, P. N. Trisal, Bansi Lal.
The meeting said that the passage of the Bill will be main agenda during this year’s Chetna Diwas falling on December 27 and the issue will be vociferously raised by the community which feels totally alienated and neglected.
Deputy Chairman Shiban Khaibri said that the primary agenda of the Trust remains the Passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill. He highlighted over decade long struggle of the trust in this regard.
Vijay Bakaya said that there is no need to get disheartened. Ajay Bharti appealed to the community to make the domicile certificates so that the correct numbers are reflected.
Virender Raina president PK said that the struggle for the passage of the Bill has been able to create a global consciousness regarding the condition of the temples in Kashmir.
Kiran Wattal said that the need of the hour is unity and PNBMT has demonstrated that all parties can come under one banner.
Desh Rattan president, AMCCC said that all those community members who are part of the political parties need to take up the issue in their respective parties.
Swamy Kumar Ji, said that over the centuries the community have struggled and survived.
Chairman Roshan Lal Pandita said that the Trust will be organising several meetings in different localities in the run up to the Chetna Diwas.
General secretary Shadi Lal Koul and secretary, Sundri Lal Koul conducted the proceedings.
