JAMMU, Dec 3: Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Dr K N Pandita, chairman Jammu Kashmir Nationalist Movement (JKNM) and a renowned scholar expressed grave concern over the deceitful attitude of the Government on the Shrines and Temples Bill and demanded its immediate passage.
The meeting said that community is keenly watching the role of political parties on the Bill and in case the Government failed to pass it in the coming budget session of the Legislature, the community would be constrained to take recourse to agitation.
The meeting said that the community will also watch the role of the political parties on the Bill and accordingly chalk out its strategy in the next year Assembly elections.
The meeting reiterated its stand that employment package should not be linked to return of the community to Valley as it is a serious issue. The return should be linked to retention of seven lakh displaced people leading an exiled life outside Valley for last 25 years now, it added.
It said the aspirations of the community be taken into consideration before finalizing any rehabilitation package for the displaced Pandits.
The meeting also reiterated that Trust will focus on the passage of Shrines and Temples Bill during the Chetna Divas observed on December 27 in memory of martyrdom of Pt Prem Nath Bhat.
The meeting among others was attended by Swami Kumar Ji, Prof A N Sadhu, Dr A N Pandita, chairman of Trust, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo of PK, B L Saraf, retd Session Judge, B L Bhat, ex MLC,D N Kissu, J L Pandita, P ML Sudeshi, Shiban Ji Bhagati, Manmohan Thaploo, M L Ganjoo, Roshan Lal Pandita and others.
