JAMMU, May 27: The educated youth from the region aspiring to participate in forth coming Probationary Officers (POs) exams in the J&K Bank have appealed to the higher authorities and Bank Management to set aside the condition of minimum 60% marks in degree examination as done during October, 2018 recruitment.
The aspirants preparing for the exams, pointed out that State Bank of India, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Allahabad Bank, Bank of Baroda and several other banks never introduced such condition and even as per RBI guidelines for the recruitment to these posts, a recognized degree from a University is required for such exams for the post of POs. They said since there is no such condition, the J&K Bank management should also follow the same rules/ norms for the forthcoming exams and recruitment process.
They said though that list was later cancelled by the J&K Government amidst some serious allegations, but the rules under RBI guidelines should be followed so that all the graduates could get an equal opportunity to sit in the examination because, many highly qualified youth are facing starvation without job and moreover, recruitment process in J&K has been almost stalled for the last three years. Many are waiting for the opportunity to seek a job and a large number of them are going to be over aged.
