LEH, Dec 14: A blue sheep was killed by some miscreants in Upshi area.
According to Incharge, Police Post Kharu, Sub Inspector Dorjay Gyaltsan, they yesterday received information from reliable sources about poaching incident on the way to Meeru, about 6 Km from Upsi. The officer said that he along with his team rushed to the spot and send the killed sheep for postmortem.
Area forest guard, Thupstan Zangpo said that he received a phone call from his informer and he also rushed to the sport but failed to trace the culprit. As per sources, two persons were seen running towards Mountain side after the incident but no arrest had been made.
A case FIR No 93/16 has been registered under Section 8/51 of Wild Life Act at Police Station Leh.
