JAMMU, Apr 21: In a representation forwarded to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah, Public Opinion Forum (POF) – a social organization has demanded immediate restoration of 4G internet services across the J&K Union Territory.
Forum President, Parveen Kumar Sharma has said that the demand should be considered in the larger interest of the students and youth of the Union Territory.
He opined that due to the ongoing lockdown in wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the student community is forced to pursue studies through online mode and the available 2G internet services in J&K is not sufficient for that.
The Forum also highlighted the problems being faced by the traders, businessmen, manufacturers and self-employed professionals in the absence of high speed internet.
