PoJK delegation submits memorandum to Div Com

JAMMU, June 27: A delegation of PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti (DPs) today called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and submitted a memorandum to him with demands.
Led by Dr Deepak Kapoor and others, the members of the delegation projecting the burning issues of the PoJK Displaced Persons, infact forwarded this memorandum to the Lt Governor of JKUT, Manoj Sinha through Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
It was pointed out in the memorandum that land related issues were being faced by the displaced persons from PoJK like 254-C and Custodian land issues. A request was made to restore 254-C in favour of allottees of PoJK displaced community and also to settle of Custodian land/ buildings in favour of such allottees of PoJK.
It was further impressed upon to extend date of registration for issuance of Domicile Certificate to PoJK DPs settled outside J&K as the date expired on May 15, 2024. The request was also made by the DPs’ organization to start work on PoJK Bhawan at Suketar by the concerned department.
The issue of non-allotment of land to non-camp Displaced Persons of 1947, 65 and 71 was also discussed with the Divisional Commissioner. Physical possession of land allotment to the PoJK DPs but being illegally occupied by some non-DPs was also brought into the notice of Divisional Commissioner.
The Div Com gave patient hearing and assured to take up the matter with the higher authorities.
