JAMMU, Aug 27: The Pak Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Displaced Persons Front -1947, 65 & 71 have decided to contest elections.
In a meeting of the Front held here today under the chairmanship of Capt (Retd) Yudhvir Singh Chib at Udheywalla here today, the members condemned the Government for befooling displaced persons and ignoring their demand. Capt Chib and other members threw light on the main issues of the DPs and alleged that several political parties only made false promises and used these people as their vote bank.
The Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Soz and other leaders including Ex-MP Madan Lal Sharma and Minister Raman Bhalla also made DPs fools. They did only lip sympathy with them. The people have understood their designs now. The members unanimously decided to contest elections and install their own candidates at the Assembly seats where DPs are in large number. They resolved that list of candidates will be released shortly and most probably during a large rally being held on September 6 in Jammu.
Several senior members including Baldev Singh, Mohan Singh, Balwan Singh, Jai Pal Sharma, Sakandya Devi, Sukhjinder Singh, Parkash Singh, Kulbir Singh Chib and others attended the meeting.
