JAMMU, Sept 5: All J&K1947 PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum today called a meeting of its core committee members under the presidentship of Amrik Singh and joined by Surjit Singh, secretary of the Forum along with other prominent members.
The Forum urged upon the Union Govt to resolve long pending demands or corporate the same in BJP manifesto so that Sharnarthi community may come openly to support BJP in the ongoing Assembly elections. It alleged that the 1947 POJK `Sharnarthis’ were cheated for the last 65 years and now they hope that during the BJP rule under the leadership of Narinder Modi the long issues pertaining to POJK DOs of 1947 will be redressed.
The Forum reiterated that the most important six issues which are to be redressed at the earliest are –pending ex-gratia of Rs 24.5 lakhs to each family be disbursed, lifting of ban on sale/ purchase of state land allotted under SRO 578/C in 1954 and later on in the year 1965 as it’s absolute proprietary rights were given under SRO254/C.It is unfortunate that in the year 2023, a notification was issued by Financial Commissioner of J&K UT in which, UT govt slaped a ban on sale/ purchase on State land.
Recently after the strong protest the SAC lifted conditional ban on sale/ purchase except in Municipal limits which is a great injustice .meted out to the DPs.
