Addressing a press conference alongside senior BJP leaders, including general secretary Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, former Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta, chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi, spokesperson Arun Gupta and Daljeet Singh Chib, Sat Sharma emphasized India’s unwavering position on the issue.
He highlighted the 1994 Parliamentary Resolution, passed unanimously by both Houses of Parliament, which declared J&K, including PoJK, as an unchallengeable part of India. The resolution was a response to Pakistan’s false propaganda and reaffirmed India’s claim over the region. Sharma asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the commitment to reclaiming PoJK has gained new momentum. The BJP remains steadfast in its pledge to liberate PoJK and observes this day as ‘Sankalp Divas’ to reaffirm its dedication to the resolution.
Sharma accused Pakistan of consistently betraying peace efforts, violating ceasefire agreements, and fostering terrorism. He recalled the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, which was orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror groups, and lauded the Modi Government’s decisive response through surgical strikes and the Balakot airstrikes. These actions, he said, demonstrated India’s resolve to counter terrorism and defend its sovereignty. He added that the Modi Government has successfully convinced the international community of Pakistan’s role in harbouring terrorism, further isolating it on the global stage.
He also highlighted the revocation of Article 370 in 2019 as a landmark step in fully integrating J&K with India, ensuring development, peace, and prosperity. The Union Government remains committed to safeguarding India’s territorial integrity and securing the rightful place of J&K within the Indian Union. Sharma reiterated that PoJK was, is, and will always be a part of India, and the BJP will not rest until the region is reclaimed.
