RAJOURI, Jan 31: PoJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti, Jammu Kashmir affiliated to Jammu Kashmir Peoples Forum released its Calendar for the year 2023 here, today in the presence of prominent citizens and members of the Samiti.
Vibodh Gupta, Ex-MLC and general secretary BJP while releasing the calendar said this is unique and first of its kind as it depicts the religious sites like Mandirs, Gurudwaras and Buddhist sites located in Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The main purpose is to make displaced persons of Pakistan Occupied Jammu Kashmir (POJK) particularly and all the citizens of India generally aware about the pious places of worship left in POJK which form our rich cultural heritage.
POJK comprises of districts of Mirpur, Muzaffrabad, few tehsils of Poonch, Gilgit and Baltistan which are strategically and geo-politically very significant. He also said that Parliament of India has already passed a resolution on 22nd February 1994 which states that Pakistan must vacate the territories of J&K which it has illegally occupied through aggression.
POJK is an integral part of India and Indian Government is committed to bring it back. He asserted that PoJK displaced persons have vowed to settle back into their lands.
Dinesh Sharma, district president, BJP claimed that the religious places depicted month wise in the calendar are Ban Ganga Temple at Khurrata, Kotli, Gurdwara near Mangla Dam located in Mirpur, Gurdwara Har Govind Singh, Muzaffarabad, Rawlakot Poonch, Kirtangarh Gurdwara Mirpur, Mangla Mata Temple, Shiv Temple of Bhimber, Shiv Temple Main Bazaar, Mirpur, Gossai Temple Mirpur, Namkian Sahib Gurdwara Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Raghunath Temple, Mirpur, Sharada Peeth Temple, Neelum Valley and Manthal Buddhist Rock at Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan and Sun Temple at Mandole, Poonch. Earlier the calendar was released at Jammu.
Subash Sharma(retd ADC) pointed that POJK Visthapit Sewa Samiti has been working for the welfare of POJK displaced persons living in Jammu Kashmir and different states of India. The Samiti has been making people aware of their rights and the genuine issues and demands of the PoJK Displaced Persons.
