JAMMU, Mar 25: PoJK Refugees Front held a rally at Press Club in support of their long pending demands including settlement of final package.
The PoJK refugees of 1947, 1965, 1971 from Mirpur, Bhimber, Chammb, Kotli, Palandari, Muzafarabad, Poonch awaiting State Cabinet decision on final settlement participated in the rally which was led by Rachhpal Singh Chib, president of the Front.
The protestors shouting slogans in support of their demands accused the Congress and NC coalition of betrayal. They said that a hope has generated with the emergence Mr Modi an alternative leader in the country to solve the refugees’ issue.
Criticizing the Refugees Joint Front who have fielded Labha Ram Gandhi as candidate for Lok Sabha elections, Mr Chib said the Front has betrayed the cause of PoJK refugees by appealing them to vote for Mr Gandhi in ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
He said the action of Front led by Rajiv Chuni and Capt (retd) Yudhvir Singh will help the coalition and waste the efforts of the refugees fighting for their cause for decades together.
He alleged that ruling parties in past have played a fraud with the refugees in the past by denying them their basic rights and settling their claims.
Smelling a rat in fielding Mr Gandhi, he said it is the outcome of a conspiracy by ruling alliance as these leaders have always ditched the refugees for their personnel greed. Rashpal Singh appealed the refugees not to fall in the propaganda launched by the Joint Front and teach them a lesson by voting for BJP candidates who are contesting elections under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Party’s Prime Ministerial candidate. He said Mr Modi has promised to take up the final settlement of refugees on priority basis as well as abrogation of Article 370 the weapon of arrogance of NC and Congress parties.
He said PoJK refugees should stand firm and support Mr Modi to seek justice for themselves.
