JAMMU, Apr 5: Jammu and Kashmir PoJK Refugees Front today staged a demonstration against the delaying tactics of the State Government in submitting the draft package for final settlement of uprooted families of Indo-Pak wars of 1947, 1965, 1971.
The protest led by Rashpal Singh Chib president of the Front alleged the NC -Congress and newly formed Refugees Front nexus has been main cause of the delay. He said they are planning to waste away the vote bank of PoK, DPs and West Pak refugees. Their objective seemed to bring back the NC-Congress coalition Government to power in the State and deprive the refugees of their rights.
Criticizing the newly formed Refugees Front, Yudhvir Singh, Rajiv Chuni, Labha Ram Gandhi and Sewa Ram who later had fielded Labha Ram as the candidate for Jammu -Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Chib appealed the people not to fall into the prey of the Front. He however said that a good sense has prevailed on Gandhi who retired from the contest in support of BJP as the Congress and NC continued to play with the interests of the refugees over the years.
He said this step was taken by Gandhi as refugees have openly revolted against him for contesting the elections on their name.
He said the J&K PoJK refuges will not be silent spectator and allow any one to play with their sentiments.
