JAMMU, June 11: All J&K PoJK 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum held its Core Committee meeting, here, today under the presidentship of Amrik Singh.
The meeting expressed the hope that new Government led by Narendra Modi who took as Prime Minister for third consecutive term the long standing and burning issues of PoJK refugees will be settled on priority basis.
The Forum congratulated Narendra Modi and his cabinet colleagues who were sworn in as cabinet ministers and Minister of State.
The Forum said that PoJK refugees have pinned high hopes in Modi Government and they are confident that during his third tenure his Government will take all steps to mitigate the suffering of displaced people from PoJK.
The meeting said in recently Parliamentary election PoJK Sharnarthees whole heartedly voted for BJP candidates especially in Jammu region.
The Forum also urged the Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha to make strong recommendations on the genuine demands of refugees to Union Government for their one time lasting solution.
The Core Committee members reiterated that about seven decades have passed and DPs are still crying under the banners of PoJK Sharnarthies which is shameful in the democratic country because at present it is the fourth generation of refugees and this tag has not been removed.
The Forum said that the left over property of refugees in PoJK have not been registered yet either by the State Government or by Union Government which is grave injustice.
The Forum also demanded that 24 Assembly seats reserved/freezed for PoJK displaced persons be got defreezed before the forthcoming Assembly elections because it will pave way for taking over of the PoJK.

Grp.Captain, Manjit Singh, Mohinder Singh, Pavneet Kaur, Khaza Singh Bhajan Singh, Avtar Singh (retd) Flying Officer, Gurdeep Singh Ripal, Krishan Lal Sharma and others.
