PoJK Sharnarthis discuss demands

JAMMU, Apr 25: All J&K 1947 PoJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum held a meeting of its Core Committee members under the presidentship of Amrik Singh which was also attended by Surjit Singh secretary of Forum discussed their various issues.
The Forum said that the people who displaced due to the Pak aggression in 1947 are still called Sharnarthis stigma in their own country where as according to International Law it is the moral duty of that country to rehabilitate the DPs in a proper way, but it is unfortunate that the successive Governments are busy in rehabilitation of the people who are intruder from Bangladesh, Mynamar, since long the people who are the security threat to the country as well as to the UT.
It expressed gratitude to the Peoples Forum for their sincere and dedications efforts for holding a congregation of DPs in honour of those displaced persons who laid their lives for the sake of country after expiry of 75 years of freedom.
The Forum appealed to the Sharnarthis belonging to PoJK displaced persons families of 1947 to attend the congregation to be organized by People Forum on May 8 at Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar to pay homage and mark of respect to the martyrs of 1947.
The Forum reiterated that after lapses of decade the Narendra Modi Government took cognizance of DPs 1947 and release Rs 2000 crore in tune of Rs 5.50 lacs per family out of Rs.30 lac package for per family as recommended by the Wadhwa Commission and apart from this till date their left out moveable and immovable assets were not got registered either by State Government or by Union Government which is a great concern and injustice to DPs.
The Forum expressed the hope that in the regime of Narendra Modi the issue will be decided at the earliest.
