A large number of refugees, under the banner of  PoK DPs Front-1947, 65 and 71 led by Capt (Retd) Yudhvir Singh Chib assembled near a park at the Tawi bank and from there they marched towards DC office in the shape of a rally.  They were carrying banners and placards hands depicting their demands.
The displaced persons including a large number of women were raising slogans in support of their demands which included comprehensive  and one time settlement  and implementation of Wadhwa Committee recommendations. Capt Chib strongly criticized some Valley based political parties including NC and PDP for opposing the cause of PoK and West Pakistan refugees and claimed that they will expose such parties in coming days. Later, they submitted a memorandum to Additional Dy Commissioner as the DC was not available in the office. A delegation of the PoK refugees also discussed their issues with the ADC who suggested them to meet the Nodal Officer/ Additional Commissioner appointed for their issues by the State Government in his office at Rail Head Complex in the office premises of  Divisional Commissioner, Jammu. Capt Chib also demanded that Rs 68 lakh released by the Centre for non-camp refuges be disbursed without any further delay.
