JAMMU, June 3: Threatening to intensify agitation from August 15 onwards, Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) refugees living in different parts of the Jammu  held protest demonstration at Rail Head Complex, seeking “full and final settlement” of  their demands.
A large number of refugees assembled near Panama Chowk and then moved towards Divisional Commissioner’s office at Rail Head and held a protest demonstration there. They demanded redressal of their pending demands at the earliest.
Led by refugee leader Yudhvir Singh, president PoK Refugees Front-1947, 65 and 71, they shouted slogans against the Delhi and State Government. They were demanding one time comprehensive settlement of their pending claims.
Yudhvir claimed that refugees will intensify the agitation from August 15, if the Government failed to fulfill their demands. He said refugees demand full and final rehabilitation and settlement package and it should not be delayed any more now. He also criticized the role of some bureaucrats who were creating hurdles. He said the Centre has  asked State to recommend the proposal but there was delay on the part of State Government now.
The refugees are demanding one-time settle-cum- rehabilitation package from the Centre and State Governments. They have also demanded reservation to their children in education and employment.
