Pol parties, social organizations pay tributes to Handwara martyrs, condemn Pak

JAMMU, May 3: Several political parties, social organizations and their leaders paid rich tributes to five security personnel including a Colonel, a Major and two jawans of the Indian Army as well as a Sub-Inspector of J&K police who attained martyrdom yesterday in Chanjmulla encounter in north Kashmir’s Handwara area and condemned the Pakistan sponsored terrorism in Kashmir.
In a statement, BJP’s media incharge of Kashmir unit, Manzoor Bhat said that our security forces have laid their lives to safeguard the nation from enemies who want to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in J&K. While paying rich tributes to Commanding Officer of 21 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit, Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, Major Anuj Sood, Naik Rajesh, Lance Naik Dinesh and SI of J&K Police Muhammad Sagir Qazi, Bhat said there scarifies will be remembered always.
The entire rank and file of the Congress Party paid homage to the martyrs. Expressing deep shock over the loss of precious lives in the attack, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) Chief G A Mir and other senior leaders Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Haji Abdul Rashid, G N Monga, Ravinder Sharma and Haji Farooq saluted the martyrs and their families and conveyed deep sympathies with their families, relatives and colleagues. “The loss of precious lives of our officers and jawans is unbearable and the nation shall ever remain indebted to the martyrs and their families,” Mir said.
Condemning Pakistan sponsored militancy in Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) today expressed concern over the martyrdom of five soldiers in Handwara. In a statement, the JKAP leaders expressed their sympathy with the bereaved family members of the soldiers who laid down their lives for the country. “This is a big loss in fight against militancy. We hope the Central Government will investigate the matter as different versions are coming out,” said JKAP leaders.
Expressing grief over the loss of our five security personnel in Handwara, BJP J&K executive member Raman Suri today said that the bravery shown by Indian Army and J&K Police in the counter-terrorist operation establishes the fact that borders will be defended even at the cost of life. “The sacrifice of our security personnel will be remembered and honoured for generations to come,” he added.
While condemning the cowardly act of the terrorists in which five security personnel were martyred, former MLC Vikram Randhawa said that the nation will remain indebted to their supreme sacrifices. While paying floral tributes to the martyrs, Randhawa said that these brave hearts sacrificed their lives but did not allow terrorists to kill civilians. Their martyrdom will be remembered by generations to come, he said.
Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh expressed shock over the killing of five security personnel. In a statement, the Ex-MLC lambasted Pakistan for its continued support to terrorism and increased ceasefire violations to facilitate infiltration of terrorists into the Union Territory. “I join the nation in saluting the valour and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers and security personnel in Handwara. My prayers and deepest condolences for their families in this time of grief,” Singh said.
Staging a protest demonstration in Jammu, Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray, J&K unit demanded a strong attack on the nefarious activities of Pakistan and make PoK part of India. Party president Manish Sahni said that martyrdom cannot be tolerated anymore. Sahni appealed PM Modi that to avenge the martyrdom in Handwara, we not only need a strong retaliation but also taught lesson to Pakistan.
Paying tributes to Handwara martyrs, ABVP Jammu Kashmir, said that the loss of our soldiers and security personnel is deeply painful and unbearable. “ABVP stands with the bereaved families of the martyred soldiers in the hour of grief, said ABVP J&K Secretary, Mukesh Manhas in a statement.
Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh while paying homage to the martyred security personnel, demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give befitting reply to Pakistan for such cowardice act. He said on one side the whole world is fighting against the pandemic Coronavirus while Pakistan is still indulging in terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Congress leaders, Harinder Mahajan, Sunil Kumar, Kirtan Singh, Camres David, Parshotam Mehra and Titus Gill paid rich tributes to the brave security personnel martyred in Handwara encounter. “We express our sympathies with the bereaved families of the brave hearts at this crucial juncture and pray for their eternal,” they said.
National secretary, Lok Jan Shakti Party youth wing Rohit Badyal and Jammu and Kashmir (UT) youth wing president Rakesh Kumar Dogra expressed heartfelt condolences on martyrdom of five security personnel. In their condolence message, they said that the loss of our Brave-Hearts in Handwara is deeply disturbing. Our hearts go out to the families of our martyrs and entire nation stands with them in this hour of grief,” they added.
Offering condolences on martyrdom of the security personnel, Jammu Kashmir Freedom Fighters’ Association (JKFFA) and Shri Ram Sena (SRS) paid rich tributes to them. Ved Gandotra, chairman of JKFFA, Rajiv Mahajan (vice chairman of JKFFA and president of Shri Ram Sena) said the country will never forget their bravery and sacrifice. “The loss of our soldiers and security personnel in Handwara is deeply disturbing and painful,” they added.
Expressing shock over the martyrdom of five security personnel in Handwara encounter, Peace of India, J&K working committee prayed for the deceased families to bear the irreparable loss. Peace of India National chief Vishal Bhardwaj said during the month of holy Ramdhan, such incidents are unacceptable. “Peace is the only way to forward and violence has no link with the religion,” he added.
President, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference, Advocate Ravinder Raina deeply condoled the sacrifice of the personnel of the Armed forces and J&K Police. At the same time, he lambasted the Government for continuing to pedal soft approach towards the foreign and local militants and their misguided supporters and demanded a stringent all-out elimination of these anti nationals.
Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) president, Sunil Dimple staged a dharna to express anger over martyrdom of five security personnel in Handwara. The frequent incidents of militant attacks and the increased ceasefire violations on our borders have led to number of sacrifices of our jawans and civilians. This can’t be tolerated and the Government must take effective actions to save precious lives of our jawans and civilians, he added.
