Police Arrest 2 Narco Smugglers In Jammu And Kashmir’s Baramulla

SRINAGAR, May 14: Police arrested two drug smugglers and recovered heroin worth Rs 2 crore from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Police said that they intercepted two persons at a checkpoint established at Ganie Mohalla Trikanjan, and during their search, 446 grams of contraband heroin-like substance worth approximately Rs 2 crore were recovered from their possession on Tuesday.
The duo, identified as Abdul Qayoom Ganie and Ghulam Hassan Ganie, residents of Trikanjan Boniyar, were arrested and shifted to Police Station Boniyar, where they remain in custody.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Boniyar, and an investigation has been initiated, they said.
Police have also urged people to contact the nearest police station or dial 112 if they witness drug peddling or any other crime near their surroundings. (Agencies)
