Srinagar, June 12: Police today arrested five drug peddlers in various instances and recovered contraband as well as psychotropic substances from their possession.
In this regard, a police party of Police Station Kreeri at a checkpoint established at Wanigam Kreeri arrested two drug peddlers identified as Mohd Shafi Hajam, son of Nazir Ahmad Hajam and Shabir Ahmad Khan son of Samunder Khan, both residents of Wanigam Kreeri.
“During the search, 18 Kgs of poppy straw was recovered from their possession,” police said.
Another police party of Police Post, Delina at a checkpoint established at Janbazpora Baramulla arrested a drug peddler identified as Zubair Ahmad Shah, son of Ali Mohammad Shah, resident of Janbazpora. “During the search, 81 tablets of SpasmoProxyvon were recovered from his possession.”
In Kulgam, a police party of Police Station, Devsar at a checkpoint established at Tankipora arrested a drug peddler identified as Mohd Ashraf Malik, resident of Hablishi. During the search, police said, 80 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.
In Awantipora, a police party of PP Reshipora headed by IC PP Reshipora at a checkpoint established at Panzgam Oudipora Crossing arrested a drug peddler identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Wagay son of Ghulam Ahmad, Wagay resident of Oudipora Panzgam Awantipora. During the search, police said, 13.5 Kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession.
