Police arrests 2 thieves, recovers stolen items

KATHUA, July 27: Kathua Police has solved one theft case by arresting two thieves and recovering stolen items i.e one smart LED TV ,one Laptop along with two Inverter Batteries from the offenders who were involved in the offence in the limits of Police Station(PS) Kathua.
Police said on July 5 a complaint was filed by Dr. Vishal Mahajan, Senior Scientific Officer of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK ) Kathua that few unknown persons had broken the door of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kathua and stole away one LED, one Laptop along with two Inverter batteries, for which a case was registered at PS Kathua vide FIR No. 265/2022 U/S 457/380 IPC.
Acting on the tip off, on July 25 police party of PS Kathua led by Inspector O P Chib, SHO PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Shammi Kumar and on the overall directives of SSP, Kathua Romesh Kotwal today arrested two suspected persons who were evading their arrest. During sustained questioning, they confessed their involvement and on their disclosure the stolen items were recovered from the possession of two accused persons namely Deepak Kumar and Ankush Kumar whereas further investigation of the case is going on and their involvement in other cases cannot be ruled out.
