Police arrests 3 drug peddlers

SRINAGAR, Dec 8: Police arrested three drug peddlers in south Kashmir’s Anantnag and Pulwama districts today and seized huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
A Police spokesman said that Police in two separate incidents arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag district and two persons in Pulwama and recovered a huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession.
He said at a naka check point at Sangam chowk, a police party while carrying out the searches intercepted one suspected person and from his possession recovered huge quantity of codeine phosphate. In Pulwama, police in its drive against drug menace, apprehended two drug peddlers and recovered 5.5 kilograms of compressed cannabis leaves and 05 kilograms of Poppy straw from their possession.
He identified the drug peddlers as Amir Ali Chopan, a resident of Rajpora Pulwama, Aijaz Ahmad Dar and Ghulam Mohammad Mir, both residents of Achan Pulwama.
“Cases under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been taken up,” he added
