Police arrests 6 thieves, recovers stolen batteries worth Rs 6 lakh

SAMBA, Oct 29: Police has arrested six thieves involved in the theft of batteries in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered stolen batteries from their possession.
Police said on October 9, a written report was lodged at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana regarding theft of five Tower batteries worth lakhs from Jio Tower site opposite Army Canteen, Bari Brahmana.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 131/2024 U/S 303 (2) BNS was registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation was started.
During the course of investigation, ASP SDPO Bari Brahmana constituted a team headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana and during search police arrested the six accused persons namely Sourav alias DK son of Daohi Ram of Khatik Mohalla, Rajasthan at present Telli Basti, Bari Brahmana, Mohd Aslam Shiekh alias Juley son of Mohd Abdul Shiekh of Mednipur, West Bengal at present, Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana, Aman Malik alias Shezad, son of Subhan Malik of UP at present Makkah Masjid Bathindi Jammu, Mohd Ali Sheikh, son of Shamus Ud Din Sheikh of west Bangalore A/P Soura Srinagar, Mohammad Abdul Sheikh, son of Mohd Roubelhiekh of West Bangal at present Telli Basti, Bari Brahmana and Mohammad Milan Sheikh, son of Mohd Noor Ulislam of West Bengal at present Telli Basti, Bari Brahmana and recovered six batteries from their possession.
Among six accused arrested, two are receivers of stolen property and have been booked under 317 BNS.
Samba police reiterated its commitment to safety and security of citizens and their property.
