Police arrests absconder, notorious criminal

KATHUA, May 27: Nagri Police arrested an absconder after a gap of 10 years today from Sakta Chak area.
According to a police spokesman, a police party of Police Post Nagri arrested one absconder Ravi Kumar alias Lovely, son of Ram Chand of Sakta Chak Kathua after a gap of 10 years. A case FIR under No 177/2003 was registered under Section 188 RPC against him in Police Station Kathua. The arrest warrants were issued against him under Section 512 CrPC by JMIC Kathua on February 18.
The spokesman said the Kathua police also arrested a notorious criminal Sham Murti alias Shamu son of Om Parkash of Hamirpur, Hiranagar while it has launched a man hunt to arrest his three accomplice involved in a theft case of Shaheed Sartool Singh Service Station Seswain Morh Chadwal.
He said a gang of four criminals barged into the service station during the intervening night of May 25 and 26 with an intention to extort the cash and other belongings from the pump. The Police after receiving the information has registered a FIR No 100/2013 under Section 457, 387, 392 and 7/25 Arms Act against the four.
On preliminary investigations it case to light that one of the accused in the theft was Sham Murti who is also a history sheeter is involved in several cases of serious assaults, theft and robbery registered against him in the state as well as outside.
