SAMBA, Apr 21: Continuing its drive against the sale of illicit liquor in the district, Samba police has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 86 bottles of illicit liquor of 180 ml each from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana.
Police said acting on reliable information regarding sale of illicit liquor near Kalagate Bari Barhmana, a police party of Police Station, Bari Brahmana headed by SHO Bari Brahmana , Sumit Sharma raided the spot, seized 86 bottles of JK Special Whisky of 180 ml each and arrested the accused person identified as Ranjeet Singh, son of Yash Pal of Kadgal, Bari Brahmana who was indulged in selling of illicit liquor to general public at exorbitant rates.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 49/2024 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
