Police arrests burglars

POONCH, May 16: Police achieved a major success by arresting a gang of burglars involved in several burglaries across the district.
On May 7, a bag containing cash and valuables was stolen from a shop in Parade, Poonch. Working on various credible leads and acting professionally, the district police nabbed suspects namely Mumtaz Ali son of Abdul Rehman of Bhatidhar, Mohd Shabir son of Qamar Din of Chaktroo (at present Degwar Maldyalan), Mohd Farooq son of Mohd Aslam of Chandak (at present Degwar Maldyalan) and Mohd Ishaq son of Mohd Din of Degwar Maldyalan.
The police said that so far they have recovered Rs 43000 from the arrested persons along with documents. Further investigations are on, police said, adding they have leads on several burglaries committed across the district.
The arrest was made by Mujeeb-ul-Rehman, Deputy SP Hqrs Poonch, Sheezan Bhat, Deputy SP (Ops) Poonch, Inspector Jatinder Raina, SHO, police station Poonch, Sub Inspector Kapil Manhas and Sub Inspector Mohd Yaqoob under the overall supervision of Jatinder Singh Johar, SSP Poonch.
