SAMBA, Dec 26: Samba police has arrested a hardcore criminal and recovered country-made pistol from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur today.
The arrested hardcore criminal has been identified as Vishal Sharma, son of Sat Pal Sharma of Raja Chack, tehsil Akhnoor district Jammu.
A case FIR No.188/2023 U/S 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation is underway.
Two more cases of attempt to murder, Arms Act and assault under FIR No. 269/2019 U/S 353/332 IPC (now challaned) and FIR No. 43/2023 U/S 307/451/147/148/504/506/323 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act (now challaned) were registered at Police Station, Akhnoor against hardcore criminal Vishal Sharma in the year 2019 and 2023 respectively.
The hardcore criminal was arrested at a special naka of Police Station, Vijaypur near BDO Office.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that a total of 156 hardcore criminals have been arrested by Samba police in past 11 months and strong legal action is being taken against the criminals, miscreants and `Gunda’ elements in the district.
