Police arrests HM militant

SRINAGAR, Jan 16: Police today arrested a Hizbul-Mujahidin militant from Srinagar’s posh colony, Jawahar Nagar, where there are residences of top police officials, bureaucrats and politicians.
Police said that an AK 47 rifle, two AK magazines, 26 rounds of AK 47 and one wireless set was recovered from his possession.
While giving details, police said that a Police party of police station Ram Munshi Bagh apprehended a militant Feroz Ahmed Bhat of Hizbul Mujahidin outfit son of Abdul Gani resident of Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar at Maltang Dalgate.
The arrested militant belonged to Jawahar Nagar, a posh colony of Srinagar, where large number of top police officials, bureaucrats and politicians live in Government quarters and flats.
The arrest comes at a time when the police for last few years have been claiming that there are no resident militants in Srinagar.
