Police arrests notorious heroin supplier

SAMBA, July 24 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba Benam Tosh, police has arrested notorious heroin supplier “Farman” and recovered heroin worth Rs 25000 approximately from his possession.
The arrested heroin supplier has been identified as Farman Ali, son of Bashir Ahmed of Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur tehsil Vijaypur, district Samba.
Heroin supplier Farman used to operate in Samba district particularly in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, Vijaypur and Ramgarh by frequently changing his identity, hide-outs and modus-operandi. He mostly used to supply heroin to the other small suppliers and individual addicts in the open fields so as to escape in the event of police raid.
However, police party while performing patrolling duties succeeded in nabbing him red-handed, arrested him and recovered heroin from his possession.
A case FIR No. 183/2023 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Supwal and investigation is underway.
The arrest has been made by the police team comprising of DySP, Garu Ram, ASI Ganesh Dass and HC Mohd Saif.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that total 66 hardcore narco-suppliers including 13 female narco-suppliers have been arrested in past six months and several others have been booked under law. Heroin suppliers are being detained and lodged in jail under stringent PITNDPS Act also, he added.
