Police attaches drug peddler’s property

SRINAGAR, Aug 6: Police today attached the property of a drug peddler in Kulgam district, officials said.
Police said it attached property-a double storied residential house valued at Rs one crore-belonging to a drug peddler identified as Ghulam Rasool Bhat, a resident of Nassu Badragund, Qazigund.

Bhat is presently lodged in Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
“The action has been taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with cases FIR No. 131/2015 U/S 8/15 of the NDPS Act and FIR No. 64/2023 U/S 8/15 of the of the NDPS Act of Police Station Qazigund,” the police said.
“During the course of the investigation, the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotics and psychotropic substances by the above-mentioned drug peddler,” they added.
