UDHAMPUR, Jan 11: Udhampur Police today seized and attached a drug peddler’s car worth Rs 20 lakh, which he had acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Police Post Tikri executed the attachment operation resulting in the seizure of Creta car bearing registration number JK02DH-2486, owned by drug peddler namely Mohd Hafiz, son of Mohd Hussain of Jhullas, Poonch.
The drug peddler Mohd Hafiz is presently in Judicial custody in case FIR No. 212/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act of Police Station Rehambal and is also involved in multiple cases registered under NDPS Act.
The movable property (car) was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/inquiry conducted by Udhampur Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.
